I Finally Got a Chance to Watch- Gremlins

I was thinking about the first movie that I would put in this new feature on this blog. It is the holiday season so I thought about watching A Christmas Story. I haven't seen it but that will have to be next year's Christmas edition. Then, I remembered that Gremlins takes place during Christmastime and I went with that. Strangely enough, it is one of the few examples of a movie series that I watched the sequel before watched the original(the other being Terminator 2). I've watch The Terminator years ago so it was time for Gremlins (there was no reason why I didn't watch it before.

I finally watched it and I thought it was a good movie. I liked the comedy horror aspect and how it lets those elements happen naturally. The movie still holds up from when it was originally made. After I watched, I was able to grab my own copy on DVD. Now, I need to re watched the sequel.

Gremlins-Glad I watched it.

Movie Review- Playing with Fire

Playing with Fire is a new family movie from Paramount and Nickelodeon Studios. The movie is about smoke jumpers(not fire fighters, as some characters will point out) that come in to help put out fire and rescue anyone that is its pathway. The story kicks in when Jake Carson(John Cena) rescues siblings Brynn, Will, and Zoey (Brianna Hilderbrand, Christian Convery and Finley Rose Slater)  from a fire. The smoke jumpers are forced to take care of them for a short period of time. Needless to say, neither side is prepared for this arrangement. The movie starts with the characters being a little bit over the top for some people's taste. At one point, I thought Mark (played by Keegan-Michael Key) was almost like his Obama interpreter character from Key & Peele. By the time the plot kicks in, it shows why the characters act like this so it brings them back down so audiences can relate to them. I thought this was a good family movie. The movie has the same feel of the movie Instant Family, It also reminds me of the Disney movie The Apple Dumpling Gang. I would recommend watching it, especially if you're watching with your family.                                                                                                                                                                                                              Rating: 8.4 out of 10

I know it's been awhile

I know that it's been forever since I've written a review or posted something on here. I'm back just in time for the holidays (the holidays have nothing to do with it but I figured to crack a joke once in a while).

You will see a review at least every week, regardless if it's at the theaters or something you can watch on your own pace.

Also,  I will start a new type of post called I Finally Got a Chance to Watch. It's going to be about movies/TV shows that people always say you should watch but I never did. There will be some in the post that I watch because I heard it was so bad.

Lastly,  I will occasionally, in previous posts, revisit movies that I haven't watched in at least five years to see if they still hold up for me.

Thank you for listening and I'll be posting soon.
