Review-Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows

Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows is the sequel of the widely successful 2009 film. This time, the movie focus on the rivalry between Sherlock Holmes(Robert Downey Jr.) and Professor Moriarty(Jared Harris).  There have been major crimes happening around the world. Holmes suspects that Moriarty is behind these activities but cannot prove it. So, he teams up with a reluctant Dr. Watson(Jude Law) to find the evidence and solve the case. Along the way, they cross paths with a gypsy named Madame Sizma Heron(Noomi Rapace from the original Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) who is a key to this mystery.  The movie works well as a chess match between two champions. Every character in the film is a chess piece moved around in position to establish who will win. On another layer,it also works as a buddy road trip picture. The pacing flowed better than it did in first one did. There is a twenty minute sequence in the movie that is superb. It reminds me of a scene in Guy Ritchie's other film, Revolver. I definitely recommend this film to  anyone who liked the first one and/or those new aspects they added in this time around.
